Within the context of tumor research, the protein kinase PKMYT1, a member of the membrane-bound Wee family of kinases that acts on tyrosine/threonine residues, has been examined in some instances, but not in breast cancer (BC). Local clinical specimens and experimental procedures, in conjunction with bioinformatics methods, were used in this study to explore the functional role of PKMYT1. Detailed analysis indicated a greater presence of PKMYT1 in BC tissue samples, particularly among patients with advanced disease, when contrasted with healthy breast tissue. PKMYT1 expression, in conjunction with patient characteristics, served as an independent predictor of survival outcomes in BC patients. Moreover, our multi-omics study demonstrated a close association between PKMYT1 expression and alterations in several oncogenes or tumor suppressor genes.
